ABOUT US

Blue Planet 1 was founded by Architect Gudjón Magnússon and is based in Iceland. Guðjón founded Ecotourist Iceland, www.ecotourist.is in 2012.

He loves the outdoors, land or sea.

His home playground is the Icelandic wilderness and the arctic ocean. He and his wife Anna Björk have had horses for decades and play around in a 34 foot sailboat fit to cruse the Iceland waters.

Guðjón loves to challenge himself, his passion has always been the great outdoors and his family. He plays the guitar,  rides a road bike and goes on daily hikes,  rides horses, and is a licence skipper.

Anna Björk is a passionate rider, a skilled photographer,  and has her own food blog. It´s in Icelandic, but feel free to try out your language skills and visit: www.annabjork.is

For every ton you pull for $20, we will Carbonize one ton of Co2 by planting trees and reclaiming wetlands.

-This feature is not available yet but is under construction-

Estimate your houshold Carbon footprint and Carbonize. We have made it easy for you.

The ocean is filling with plastic, help us clean it up and find solutions to stop the plastic to reach the ocean.

It´s not only the atmosphire  that is suffering from the constant release of CO2. The ocean is suffering as well

Ocean acidification is the serious ongoing decrease in the pH of the Earth's oceans, caused by the uptake of carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere. Seawater is slightly basic (meaning pH > 7). It is estimated that over 30% of the CO2 ends up in the ocean causing a serious threat to the marine life and the whole ecosystem.

what can you do

carbonize-logo.png

It´s simple

If you are reading this you are probably a responsible person who cares about your planet and want to keep it habitable for humans and other living creatures.

We therefore assume that you are already doing your best by recycling and using energy responsibly.  But how ever good our intentions are we can´t avoid  all the things that release CO2 but we can compensate for them by adding to the positive impact of plants and by restoring wetlands dried by humans in the past.

So do this:

*  pull a ton (or two)  of CO2 every once in a while

*  get rid of your car´s carbon footprint

*  get rid of your houshold´s carbon footprint

*  get rid of your travel´s carbon footprint
